    Inaport Error occuring sporadically

    Hi.

I am working on an Inaport Profile in Inaport 6 from GoldMine 6.7 to a SQL Server 2005 data store.

I am occassionaly getting the following error in a Message Box titled "Record Preview" - "WARNING: Source Table in Connectors/GoldMineConnector is empty."

In this profile the Source table is empty as I have entered a SQL statement into the "OR enter a SQL SELECT statement...." text box.

Strangely the Preview is completely fine until I select a tab such as "Add Fields" or "Match and Map to Target".

The Inaport profile actually runs and executes as I would expect it to, but it's proving difficult to modify without the preview control or updating of the data as I move through the "Add Fields" tab and "Match and Map to Target".

     Any ideas?

    Best wishes

    Paul

    Hi Paul

The SQL statement also generates a table - the error message is saying that there is no data to populate the preview.

On tab 2, click Update Preview - do you get some data? If you get nothing, then you will need to review the SQL.

If you get a small number of rows, it may be that the preview is getting confused. If the source has fewer rows than have been configured in the preview setup, it reads the rows and gets to the end of the record set, but then doesn't always correctly go back to the beginning. Try changing the "number to preview" counter down to 1 row.

    Hi

Thanks, yes that fixed it I was modifying my SQL to filter the rows returned for the specific changes I was making so I was only returning 2 rows, but I had the Preview Control set to the default 5 rows. After changing the Preview Control to 2 rows I can continue working through all the tabs.

    Best wishes
