    GoldMine Connections

We are testing connection for the GoldMine Migrator using Inaport and the GoldMine templates.  We have already completed a test import of the excel data to Saleslogix.  Worked fine.  We now what to see that the Goldmine template works with Inaport.  We create the connections for SLX and GoldMine, but when we select the Select Source Record Tab, we get the following

    Unable to load DLL (GM7S32).

GoldMine can run on the machine the inaplex is installed on.  GoldMine is up and running when we select this tab.   We had this running on a test system but now in the production we are seeing this issue.

It appears our GoldMine connection setting are correct since the in the Connection String Manager we placed in the server name and username/password.  When we get the GoldMine database we are able to.

    Any suggestions.

    Hi Peter

See the post in the Knowledge Base on connecting to GoldMine (no you did not miss it; it is brand new Smile). Note the information about copying dlls.

If this does not help, let me know.

I noticed in your GoldMine connection manager that the bottom two reference are to simply the GoldMine GMbase and Contact database.  When we set this up it is slightly different:  MSSQL: GoldMine: dbo:    We are using goldmine v7.0 corporate.  Should we drop the MSSQL and dbo?  Since Goldmine v7.0 Coprorate and GoldMine v8.0 Premium use the same connection method.  I believe it is ADO connection.  The borland db connector was dropped after v6.0

    Re: GoldMine Connections

    Hi Peter

Yes - for GM7, just use the alias, as seen in the Tools - Database - Alias Manager in GoldMine. Normally "GoldMine:" (note the colon).

The API connection still refers to the BDE, even though it is not used anymore - this is fine.

See the screen shots in the Knowledge base article.

    Dave:

Not sure what else we can do here.  We have gone to the point to place both SQL 2005, GoldMine & SLX all on the same

Server.  Both GoldMine & SLX run perfectly without any errors.  I will email you our GoldMine connection string and a screen

shot of the error.   GMbase location and Contact Set value can directly out of help | about | system in Goldmine.

There really should be something to test the GoldMine connection in the Editor before proceeding, but there doesn't appear

to be.   I'll send the screen capture directly to you.

     Peter
