    Move/delete/copy files

    Hi,

There are some functions in Inaport for filehandling. Unfortunately the movefile, deletefile, and copyfile functions don't work for my PC. Even if a file exists (by using the fileexists function), it is not possible to move/copy/delete that file.

Is this a problem of the inaport software?

    Hi Maarten

The functions do work. However, they specifically do not do anything when you click "Update Preview" when in the Profile Editor, to avoid accidentally moving/deleting files when building a profile. The other common problem is permissions, if you are attempting to move a file to another system.

    Can you provide more information:

    • which verson of Inaport?
    • what is the error you are getting?

    Regards

    Aha, thanks David.

The problem is already solved by your short reply. I was only using the "update preview" button... Another question however is if it is possible tot create also the directories in which the files are moved/copied to?

    Example:

There is a ...\Library\System Administrator directory with a particular document in it. Is it possible to move/copy the document to the not already existing directory ...\Library\C\CompanyName\ by only using Inaport functions?

By using the function movefile or copyfile the directory to copy/move to should already exist!

    Regards, Maarten

    Hi Maarten

If you are trying to attach files to CRM, you should use the Library table and the vf_ fields. Inaport will then look after copying the file from the source to the correct library directory, renaming the file if necessary to avoid conflict in the directory, and creating a library record with the correct defaults.

    Regards

    David
