Import activities into GoldMine 8 PE based on field from Contact2

    Hello all,

I'd like to import activities into GoldMine 8 PE using Inaport.  I already have contacts in Contact1 with appropriate additional entries in Contact2. In Contact2 I have two fields with contact ID from our previous DB system and the name of the user who's responsible for this contact.

Now I have exported activities in XLS file and each activity row contains there two information (contact ID, user) which are in Contact2 in GoldMine.

How can I setup Inaport to import activities from this XLS file matched by these two fields in Contact2. I tried to setup Contact2 as parent and Calendar as a Child, but it doesn't create any entry in Accountno field in Calendar table.

If I use parent Contact1 and child Calendar, leave default relationship and setup Match based on Contact name, it creates all activity entries also with AccountNo in Calendar. Problem is that we have more contacts with the same name, so I can't use it in this way.

Thanks a lot for your help

    Hi Cerf

    Try this:

    1. have _Contact2 as the top table
        -  have operation "Match single exsiting record"
        -  on the relationship tab, change the primary key to #ACCOUNTNO, instead of #RECID
        -  set up the match criteria you need in the Match tab

    2. Have _Contact1 as the second table
        -  have operation "Match Single Existing record"
        - on Relationships, check that #ACCOUNTNO is primary and foreign key
        -  you do *not* need to specify a match criteria, as C1 is 1 to 1 with C2

    3. Have _Calendar as a child of _contact1, and proceed with the normal match and map.

    Regards

    David
